The Reception Gallery is located on the 2nd floor of the Hilt Building within the Frauenthal Center and is open Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM with extended hours on show nights.

Kris and Bob are a husband-and-wife team and their photography venture, 2 Browns Photography, combines their love of the outdoors with their love of photography. Members of Flat River Gallery & Framing, their work has appeared in ArtPrize, Festival of the Arts, the Pure Michigan campaign and many others.

Holly Sturges studied painting in New York at the New York Studio School, the Art Students League and the City College. She is strongly influenced by French Impressionists Bonnard and Vuillard and Americans like Porter, Avery, Hopper, Kahn and O'Keefe. Holly is known for her vivid colors and her ability to abstract a place or object while retaining its recognizable essence. Holly has had numerous solo shows featuring the landscapes of the Sleeping Bear National Park and has shown in ArtPrize, St. Cecilia's Terryberry Gallery, and the Muskegon Museum's Regional Show. Her paintings have been selected for three NYC galleries: Prince Street, Blue Mountain and the Bowry.

Evie Carrier is an artist and a photographer living between two beautiful locations: Grand Rapids and Paradise, MI. Her passion started early on in life, and she studied Art and Art History at Evangel College. She later continued her education by taking photography classes, and mastering photoshop and encaustic painting with Alicia Tormey. Currently, Evie serves as Vice President of Programs at Grand Rapids Camera Club and Treasurer and Board member of Grand Valley Artists.

As an oil painter, Barbara's work has been strongly influenced by the bold, impressionist art of contemporary Russian painters. As a result, her own painting has become bolder and more expressionistic. Painting to her is about capturing the energy of a subject. Barbara loves strong textures, thick paint and vibrant colors. "I search to find a balance between the abstract and the representational. I love the feel of pushing thick paint around and layering juxtaposing color notes. I have moved away from a more literal translation of my subject to a more emotional response."

The Franciscan Artists are a group of artists that meet at the Franciscan Life Process Center in Lowell, MI in an Open Studio setting every Wednesday. It's an exciting group of artists that work in all mediums and all styles creating beautiful and exciting art, in all different styles, as well as creating friendships together. They are always welcoming new members.

West Michigan Student Showcase Visual Arts Nominees are selected by each school's Art Department. The nominees must have demonstrated "exceptional artistic talent" in any field of Visual Arts.
Judged on skill and technique, selection of material/difficulty, and overall presentation and impact; three winners will be chosen by the judges and awarded $1,000 (first place), $500 (second place), and $300 (third place). Honorable mentions may be awarded at the discretion of the judges.
