Elvis Costello & The Imposters with Charlie Sexton
Friday, September 18
Elvis Costello brings his acclaimed “Radio Soul!: The Songs of Elvis Costello From The Early Days to the Late Hours” tour to the Frauenthal Center on September 18.
Joined by The Imposters—Steve Nieve, Pete Thomas, and Davey Faragher—and guitarist Charlie Sexton, Costello will perform songs drawn from the first decade of his recording career, spanning My Aim Is True (1977) through Blood & Chocolate (1986), along with select songs from throughout his catalog.
The program features music from a remarkable period that produced many of Costello’s most celebrated compositions, including “Watching the Detectives,” “Alison,” “Man Out of Time,” “Brilliant Mistake,” and “I Want You.” While focused on these early works, the evening also leaves room for unexpected selections and reinterpretations.
The “Radio Soul” tour has earned widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike, celebrating a body of work that continues to resonate decades after its release. Backed by longtime collaborators The Imposters and guitarist Charlie Sexton, Costello revisits these songs not as a retrospective, but as living works brought into the present through a dynamic live performance.
This performance is one of a limited number of North American dates on the tour.
