In the early 1900s, Henrietta Leavitt begins work at the Harvard Observatory, where she’s barred from using telescopes or sharing original ideas. Instead, she joins a group of women “computers,” tasked with charting the stars for a renowned astronomer who measures projects in “girl hours” and disregards their groundbreaking theories. In her spare time, Henrietta embarks on a personal quest to measure the light and distance of stars while navigating the challenges of balancing her passion for science, family responsibilities, and the possibility of love.

Based on the true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt, this compelling narrative examines a woman’s role in a society resistant to both social and scientific progress.
